The horse mackerel comes directly from the North Sea to our facility in IJmuiden. It is first split and flattened, then lightly salted, and finally dried. This drying process concentrates the flavor, making the fish richer and more intense, just as is common in Japan.

In 1993, Marinus founded Hokkai Suisan all thanks to this product. It is a true classic of Japanese cuisine.

Preparation method: Defrost the fish overnight in the refrigerator. Preheat the oven or grill to 230° C. Place the fish meat side up on a baking sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes.
