Hokkai at Home with Jelle (31) from IJmuiden: “As a production employee at Hokkai Suisan, I have the honour of working with traditional Japanese fish products on a daily basis. Ever since I was a child, I have been interested in everything that lives in the sea. I am a fanatical sport fisherman and mainly fish for predatory fish. Through my work at Hokkai, I have learned a lot about the different types of fish and their flavours. This knowledge comes in handy in the kitchen; I eat fish at least four times a week. One of my favourite fish dishes is turbot (Hirame) from the oven with herbs, tomato and cheese. I am happy to share the recipe with you!”Preparation
- Preheat the oven on 180 degrees.
- Defrost the Hirame Sashimi in the fridge or in cold water.
- Grease an oven dish with a knob of butter.
- When the fish is defrosted, place it in the baking dish without baking paper.
- Season the fish to taste and spread the tomatoes, onions, grated cheese and a few knobs of butter over the fish.
- Put the dish in the oven for 15 minutes and in the meantime, prepare a salad or vegetable pot as desired.
