How to make Obento
In this brand new Hokkai Tutorial, Chef Ohtawara shows you how to make Obento. Obento is a traditional Japanese meal that you can take anywhere. Chef Ohtawara demonstrates three different kinds of Obento: one with onigiri (rice balls), one with fish and vegetables and a very luxurious one for special occasions. Vary with different Hokkai products and enjoy a delicious Obento at the office, school or the beach!
Home delivery service
This month, our drivers drove all over the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany to deliver freshly frozen fish products to our customers’ homes. We do this with special freezer transport vehicles in order to guarantee quality. All our fish products are prepared according to Japanese recipes, easy to prepare and have a long shelf life in the freezer. That is why we advise you to empty a freezer drawer and turn it into your ‘Hokkai drawer’. This way, you will always have delicious and healthy fish at home.
Tako Potato
Chef Ohtawara shares his recipe for Tako Potato, a salad of octopus and potatoes. Our Tako is often eaten raw with a tiny bit of soy sauce and wasabi. In this recipe, our chef shows you how to heat up the Tako, giving it a deliciously soft texture that goes well with a salad. In a few simple steps, you can put this summery salad on the table at home.
Homemade Temaki’s
Celebrate summer with home-made temakis with tuna, salmon and kingfish! Put all the cut ingredients in trays on the table and let everyone fill their own ‘cone bag’. Order the fish products from our webshop and buy the other ingredients at your (Japanese) supermarket.
